We Wish You All a Very Happy Christmas
Well it’s that time of the year again, and where has this year gone? We at Edwinstowe and the Dukeries Lions Club are battling the elements and the ever expanding villages, to get SANTA moving again this December. We try our very best to get around the district, playing songs, and sometimes singing them to help cheer up our community. We also hand out our now famous “Freddo” chocolate bars to the kids, we also have a supply of non dairy sweets for those unlucky enough to have an intolerance to them.
What we collect at Christmas goes a long way to raising the funds to support worthy causes, so please try and continue with your generosity. We THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts, you never let us down.
We will keep you posted as to where we will be via social media and hope we can get to see as many as possible, we always require help collecting hope for decent weather, as we hate cancelling any planned visit.
One constant is that every Chhristmas we will be at Ollerton TESCO for three days. We appreciate Tesco so much for their continued support and it serves as a great safety valve in the event of you missing us. This year we are there Friday/Saturday/Sunday ( 19th 20 th and 21st of December). So come and see us and say hello, we now have card machines for those who do not carry cash and any amount is truly appreciated.
This last year we have supported loads of local people and organisations, probably too many to mention, but be assured we check all requests out to make sure your money is used wisely.
One final thing we would love more members to join us to continue our work and bring fresh ideas and sometimes energy to the club, PLEASE consider at least checking us out either by email, phone call or even better by joining us at a meeting, we work hard but also have lots of fun in the process, particularly our social nights.
